Cottonwood Heights Neighborhood Watch Block Captain Training

Wednesday September 2nd at 7:00 PM

This training session will focus on securing your home, and will provide tips to pass on to your neighbors on how we can reduce the probability of having crime committed. Cottonwood Heights Police Department will be presenting most of the information.

We will also be discussing some issues related to emergency preparedness, too.

The Cottonwood Heights Neighborhood Watch is looking for residents who are ready to help make their great neighborhood even better a better place to live.

The Neighborhood Coordinator is responsible for a neighborhood of about 10 – 12 Block Captains. They will recruit such Block Captains, provide each Block Captain with flyers or newsletters regarding the Neighborhood Watch program, activities and other related issues. The Neighborhood Coordinator works with the Area Coordinator and the Block Captains to help disseminate information from the local Cottonwood Heights Police Department to their neighbors.

The Block Captian is a person who is willing to “get to know those on the block,” supplying them with crime prevention information, flyers regarding Neighborhood Watch activities and other related assistance. Each block will consist of approximately 8 – 10 homes.

We are having a leadership training and neighborhood watch basics “boot camp”.

We are going to make neighborhood watchers out of you, we will whip you into shape, so don’t be late.

Your first task is to find the place.
